Main Street's Future Revitalization

As everyone is aware, construction on Phase I of Wetaskiwin's Main Street Revitalization is underway (please visit www.wetaskiwin.ca for road closure information). While we wait for further project details to share, we thought you would like to see the graphic renderings of what our fully revitalized main street is expected to look like.

Update on AFC!

Kevin Lucas, Manager of Recreation with the City of Wetaskiwin, is pleased to provide the public with an update on our Wetaskiwin Regional Aquatics & Fitness Centre (AFC)!

"To date we are on schedule and very happy with the build. PCL is keeping the site clean and limiting the traffic entering the west gate. Steve from PCL noted he has had several opportunities to share with people what they are doing. The construction team is hoping to be at ground level within a month (weather pending)."

Visitors from Ashoro, Japan

Delegates from Ashoro, Japan paid a visit to Wetaskiwin this weekend to attend this year's A/JTMA Conference & AGM (May 4 & 5). This photo was snapped on the front stairs moments before Mayor Bill Elliot took the deleagtes on a tour of Wetaskiwin City Hall.

Welcome Dale Cory - Communications Coordinator

The City of Wetaskiwin would like to announce the appointment of Dale Cory to the position of Communications Coordinator - effective immediately.

Dale has a strong background in communications, having spent considerable time in long-standing mediums such as radio, television and newspaper. He has also worked in marketing and promotions during a career which has spanned 30 years.
